DESCRIPTION

Rules 1. the contestants must be born after 31 decem- ber 1980 (people that are already attending a design or artistic school can take part, wi- thout any age limits). 2. the contestants are asked to develop the theme “melting shoes: intercultural con- taminations”. this should be done through sketches, stylistic researches, collages of images, or whatever could enable the jury to assess the contestant’s creativity. 3. each contestant may freely decide the quanti- ty and type of materials to be submitted to the examining committee, as long as they do not exceed the size of 50x70 cm. 4. the examining commitee will be composed by representatives of the footwear firms linked with sammauroindustria (casadei, pollini, sergio rossi, tgp, vicini) and by a represen- tative of cercal. 5. the materials must arrive within 29 februa- ry 2012, along with the authors’ curriculum vitae, a copy of their id, and a photo, at the following address: un talento per la scarpa at the seat of cercal, via dell’indipendenza 12 - 47030 san mauro pa- scoli (fc) - italy. the deadline is on 29 february 2012 (last day for shipping - postmarks date) 6. the author of the work first ranked will have the opportunity to do a three months and half long training course for footwear pattern- maker and designer at cercal-research center and international footwear school and six months long internship in one of the firms linked with sammauroindustria (ca- sadei, pollini, sergio rossi, vicini), and will also receive 6.000 euros as a contribution for his or her staying in san mauro pascoli. the first ranked will receive the full amount of the price only if he will take fully part at the trai- ning course and if he will do the internship. in another case, the amount of the price will be proportionally adjusted. 7. the authors classified in the top of the list will be reported to the firms of san mauro pascoli shoe district. 8. the committee reserves the faculty to exhibit to the public the sketches in competition and to collect them in a catalogue. the conte- stants accept and will not be payed for that. 9. the materials submitted can be returned to contestants if a formal request is made and transportation expenses are paid. in this case, materials must be accompanied by a written request for return and a postal order for the sum required for transportation costs. materials will not be returned if the sum is not sufficient to cover transportation costs. the materials classified in the top of the list will not be returned. if any of these have made a formal request for the return of ma- terials, the sum for transportation costs will be returned. 10. the partecipants abide by the code of prac- tice covering the use of personal data as out- lined in the d.lgs. 196/03. these data will be filed at the seat of cercal - secretary office of the contest, and will be used only for pur- poses required by the contest. for further information: www.cercal.org/doc/privacy-policy.html <http://www.cercal.org/doc/privacy-policy.html> 11. the decision of the examining committee is final. the application for the competition im- plies the acceptation of these rules. sammauroindustria advertises an international contest aimed at discovering and promoting new talents in the field of shoe designing.
